Giving FAQs

What does Mongul believe about giving?

We believe the giving of our resources is an act of worship through which we honor God (note Prov 3:9). We believe that all that we have is from God’s gracious hand (note Psalm 24:1), and that as followers of Christ freely and joyfully give of their resources—whether it be money, possessions, time, or talents—they are imitating the generosity and character of God (note John 3:16, 1 Corinthians 2:12 & James 1:17)

We are excited about your desire to give, not only because of how your gift will allow us to continue to be about our mission of loving God, loving people and serving people both in our community and around the world, but also because of what your gift prayerfully communicates to the world about your heart and relationship with God (note 2 Corinthians 9:12-15), and how investing wisely benefits you (note Acts 20:35 & Matthew 6:19-21).

How does Online Giving work?

Our online and mobile giving is facilitated by Mogiv, a secure giving platform used by nonprofits around the country. They set up the technology that enables gifts in any amount, anywhere, from any device. That allows us to spend more time fulfilling our mission!

Mogiv allows you to give in any amount above $1.00. There’s no maximum limit. And you can give from a debit card, credit card or bank account. The choice is yours!

Do I have to set up an account for Online Giving?

You can give through the website without setting up an account. An account is needed for text or e-mail giving. However, setting up an account only takes one extra step and will allow you more control over recurring gifts, updating and managing the bank accounts or cards you use to give as well as being able to view and print giving statements at your convenience!

How much does it cost me to give electonrically through Mogiv?

The Mogiv system is free to use for givers. There are no set-up fees, and no fees charged to make a gift.

Will I get a receipt for tax purposes?

If you give by mail or in person with a check or cash in either a personalized offering envelope or a blank envelope with your contact information or if you give electonrically, you will receive a year-end contributions statement that recounts your giving.

Additionally, if you give electonrically, the Mogiv system will email you a receipt for each gift that you make. If you set up a Mogiv user account, you can also access a personalized, printable giving report online at anytime.

All gifts to our General Fund (including donations made in memory of someone), Missions Fund, Building Fund and the Benevolence Offerings we take throughout the year are tax deductible.
